







The gearbox of a twin-screw extruder is subjected to extremely high operating loads. Due to the relatively small centre distance between the two extruder screws, the gearbox must transmit ultra-high torque while counteracting strong reverse axial pressure. Therefore, LEMIX equips its twin-screw extruders with a high-power drive solution.
This transmission gearbox with a dual power distribution structure is engineered and manufactured in Germany. The technical team of LEMIX has completed its forward design and development, and it has been fully applied in mass production.

Higher load capacity, longer service life, more stable operation, adaptable to high-output and high-load working conditions, with easier maintenance.

When the ratio of outer diameter to inner diameter is 1.66, an optimal proportion is achieved between a large volume and effective energy input into the product. This is especially the case when running volume-restricted processes such as dry-blends, pigment preparations, fillers or additive concentrates.
With lower cut screw flights and larger external diameters, an increase in volume and thus improved throughputs of up to 30% are possible.

A high volume-to-capacity ratio means that greater cooling capacity is required in some cases. Therefore, we have doubled the number of inlets and outlets for each barrel and adopted a sophisticated cooling valve control system to enable more cooling liquid to flow through the barrel, thus enhancing the cooling capacity.
The processing unit is held by a functional carrier system with integrated cooling pipe installation. The high-quality valves are assembled in the frame in a very space-saving way. The high-quality coax valves are assembled in the frame in a very space-saving way.

Zero-differential-pressure startup: Thanks to the pressure-balanced design, it can be reliably opened and closed regardless of high or low pressure.
Low flow resistance and large flow rate: With a straight-through flow channel, the resistance to the medium is far less than that of ordinary solenoid valves.
Multi-medium compatibility: It is suitable for complex working conditions such as high-viscosity oil, particle-containing fluids, and high-pressure gases.
Long lifespan and high reliability: The valve core is evenly stressed, with little seal wear, making it suitable for frequent startups and stops.

Screw material and screw combination can be customized according to materials and formulas.

The barrel can be customized with openings or inserts according to the technological requirements. These are used for feeding, degassing and venting, so as to achieve the best coordination with the extruder screw.

Heating cartridges are used to heat up the barrel in the fastest and most effective way. They enable:
short heat-up times
quick melting and wetting
Energy savings heating inside the barrel in contrast to heating bands or angular heaters (see figure below)
more efficient spare part administration → same type of heating cartridges for all barrel types
